A Star is Born

This is the second card I made for this baby boy born last month - this one's from me but I also made another for a friend of mine to give him.  I thought it would be difficult to make two completely different cards until  I saw this baby blanket and was instantly inspired.

And of course I had to make a matching gift bag to put the blanket in didn't I !!!

Wee Dog

Don't you just love it when you finally use something you bought months ago!!!  To be fair I bought this die with the express purpose of making a card for my friend Ruth and it was only her birthday this week.

I was inspired by Mojo Monday Sketch 449, although I had to move my wee dog a little to the left to hide a boo boo!!!

also by Time Out Challenge 57 where the quote is

'May All your weeds be wild flowers'

and the sentiment was inspired by the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

MAKE A WISH

It's a Nice Day for a Beach Wedding

I've had that Bill Idol song going around in my head ever since a friend of mine asked if I could make a beach themed wedding card for her - if you were having a beach wedding you'd want the weather to be nice wouldn't you!!!

Here's a side view to try and catch the depth the alcohol inks create

I'm entering this in my favourite type of challenge - Anything Goes over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

Stamps Used - Crafty Individuals CI-272 Seaside Treasures; (very old) StampWorld Shell Corner (on inside)
Dies - Marianne D. Creatables Shells; WMS Stitched Rectangles and Scalloped Rectangles

Amazing, Lovely Friend

I desperately wanted to use this new Cheery Lynn Celtic Whimsy die as this is for my dear Irish friend Maggie as I bought it especially with her in mind.  However my mojo was in a dark place at the time and I stared at it for days before knowing how to proceed - ever had days like that?

In the end I took some pretty floral paper from a kit prepared by my dear friend Jaine Drake and went with clashing pinks and oranges (and green of course - she is Irish after all) to creat this card.  The "amazing" and "lovely" actually started life as plywood embellishments but they needed tarting up so I embossed them green and pink embossing powders 2 or 3 times until they were nice and juicy and sprinkled some glitter on top.

For the inside, I adhered a piece of the patterned paper from the front to some foam board and used a Sizzix Original die to create a very large bold "Friend" sentiment - original dies can cut through almost anything.  A little glossy accents et voila.

I'm entering this in the following challenges
