Cozy Christmas Tote

In this month's WMS Pyjama Party Claire has challenged us to create some gift wrapping/gift bag or box with a cozy feel to it.

I've created this little tote bag with my Cameo.  The panels have been stamped with WMS Vintage Christmas Backgrounder in Versafine Red Satin.  I layered a red Snowflake #3 and white glitter Snowflake #2 to adorn the bag.

Place cards

A quick couple of photos of the 21 + place cards for my friend Maggie who will be celebrating her 21st +++ birthday in style next Friday evening.

The image was stamped and partially cut using the matching die, however I had real trouble stamping on this "hammered" card which I bought by the sheet and cut to size (it was the only card in the colour I wanted) and the embossing was disastrous.  So I ended up restamping this gal on some pearlescent card and overlaying it on the image, which kinda defeat the purpose of partially cutting her out so she'd pop up but anyway they're done now.

20th Wedding Anniversary

A small gift for my husband to celebrate 20 years of marriage.
Decopatch paper was overstamped with clock collage from Non-sequitur, Stamp Collage and Sentiments from Crafty Individuals, and Freebie from Feb 2011's Craft Stamper Magazine.  Tissue tape from Tim Holtz, and Gears and Clock Hands were cut from alcohol inked glossy card by Ellison Thin Cuts.

This is my latest creation. My friend Ruth turned 50 yesterday and I wanted to make her a really special card. In the end I decided on an explosion box. We girls are going out on the town tomorrow night and I thought she might like to store any pictures from the night inside - really make it a night to remember.

The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow Collection. Some of the embellishments have been punched from Coredinations Gemstones collection, but most of it was just from stash - I just wanted to highlight the rich colours in the patterned papers.
The thing about explosion boxes is you always have those spare cut out pieces left over, so I created a book mark with one of these (the inverse has that famous quote from Mark Twain about age being an issue of mind over matter). I also created a teeny gift card and envelope to put in the centre of the box.

The flowers, hearts and stars are attached using acetate strips (formerly a packing box from a sizzix die). The last time I made an explosion box I used wire stems, but I saw the acetate on other explosion boxes on the internet and thought I'd give it a try. I must say I was pleased with the effect - I love the way they appear to be suspended in mid air.
Of course all the corners have been rounded with the Corner Chomper.
