Red Robin Tags

I made up these tags for the WMS Pyjama Party Scandi Tags category.  They're not very Scandinavian with their French sentiments and distressed edges, but Claire said red and white would probably pass muster so here they are.

The WMS Stitched Tags have been stamped with a sentiment from the WMS Say it Loud Winter Holiday set in Festive Berry Distress Ink.  The little Memory Box Meadow Bird was cut from red glitter card as was the grommet for the tag.  The To and From on the back are from the WMS Ornate Ornaments set.

21st Bird-day Card

I made this card for a very special young woman in one of my son's life who turns 21 in a few weeks.  I saw this really great sketch over at the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club, which really tickled my fancy.

I also fell in love with the colours in ColourQ Challenge 255

Stamps and Dies used
MFT : Branch with Leaves die, Contempo Cage stamps and die
Memorybox : Tessatina die
Spellbinders : Cherry Blossom

A Ray of Sunshine

A quick little card I made up for my stash.  It actually started out as a Baby Girl card (I based this card on the Brian Cadd classic from the sixties) but I had to change it as very few people outside Australia and/or born after 1970 would have heard of the song.  So it's now a pick-me-up or get well card - also always useful to have in the stash !!!

The sentiment was computer generated using the American Typewriter font (I think).  I had loads of this pink card from Maggie's place cards last month, so I just added a bit of DP and a few pearls.  The sun rays are actually cut using the Spellbinders Nested Pennants and the cloud is a Memory Box Marshmallow cloud.

If you would like to hear the song (sung by a really young Glenn Shorrock), check this YouTube video.

Hope the sun is shining in your part of the world,
Kate

A Green Tea Party

I fell in love with this Tea Tree stamp from Crafty Individuals but for some reason it's been sitting in my box for ages waiting to be inked up.  I thought a birthday card for my tea loving best friend Maggie would be a good time to finally put it to use.
I was lucky enough to find a piece of glossy card I had inked up earlier with green and gold alcohol inks - perfect for an Irish lass, and I found this green tartan in a Papermania Capsule Collection 8x8 paper pack.
Combined with a greeting from the new WMS Folk Art Label 25 set, a flower and leaves from the WMS Folk Art Medallion set, and a Tessatina Border cut from a piece of the same card stock used for the Tea Tree panel, this card came together fairly quickly.
I felt the font on this greeting was crying out for some little gems, and I added some larger ones to the border.
I love working with green at this time of year - it reminds me of spring, which I am hoping is not too far off now.

Berry Sweet Birthday Wishes

I am so behind on my birthday cards.  This is for my sister and I'm too embarrassed to admit how late this birthday card is.
Anyway I thought I'd make her a Berry card while she still is a Berry - let me explain.
Currently her surname is Berry but she has recently become engaged and once married I dare say she will change her name (Berry is the surname of her ex-husband so why would she keep it).  Her fiancé's name is Bartlett, so she'll be swapping one fruity surname for another!  I'll be on the look out for pear stamps soon I guess ;)
This card was based on WMSC110.  I thought this sketch would work well with the strawberry on a gingham tablecloth idea I had in mind. This sentiment from Compact Sentiments also seemed perfect.
The border was cut with my new Memory Box Tessatina die.

Spring Blooms

I wanted to use my new Twiggy Tree die from Memory Box and I couldn't think of a better idea than making a Thank You Card for my friend Sonya whose mum very kindly took delivery of some recent orders I made and who transported them back to Luxembourg for me.
I was inspired by the plum tree outside our kitchen door, which was recently covered in the prettiest pink blossoms.  They're only a memory now as is any hope of spring - it's been freezing here.
Mind you it's all relative - when Andrew was talking to his mum (in Australia) yesterday she complained about how it was freezing there.  He asked her what the temperature was and she replied about 18 - it was 3.5 here with a wind chill factor to knock it way below that.
So here's to a hasty return to Spring.
