Challenge #275 has just gone live at Time Out Challenges and this fortnight we have a theme challenge for you
Baking/Sweet Treats
This challenge is generously being sponsored by Lawn Fawn and they are offering our Top Pick as chosen by the design teams a $25 credit to their store! The Top Pick will also be invited to join Time Out as a guest designer in a future challenge!
Speaking of guest designers, we are joined this challenge by the incredibly talented Claire Apostoloff of Life on the Scrap Heap our winner from Challenge #270! If you didn't come here from the Time Out Challenge Blog, you really must see what she has made especially for our challenge ... and while you're there, let her know how much you love it!
World CP Day was earlier this month (6th October) and I was involved in a fundraiser/information event for a Luxembourgish based Cerebral Palsy Association that I am closely involved with. I thought it would be fun to make some cards for sale using primarily the colour green (the colour associated with Cerebral Palsy). Lime Pie was the first green idea that popped into my head, inspired by the theme for this challenge and this recently acquired NBUS die set - Spellbinders Perfect Pie! I teamed it with a few segments of lime from the Tim Holtz Happy Hour die set and a "sweet" sentiment from Love2Craft.
I'd like to enter these fab challenges

Yummie!!! It looks so real!!
ReplyDeleteKey lime pie? Oh, so yummy, which is one of my favorites! What a sweet card, Kate, well done! (Maria Patrick)
ReplyDeleteThe perfect card for a great cause! Very creative use of the products, Kate! Makes me want some Key Lime pie!
ReplyDeleteThis pie looks fabulous, Kate. The textured background is perfect and I love the way you did the pie tin and the browned edges of the crust. Key lime is a fav of mine too, and this one looks good enough to eat!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card Kate! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our WORD POWER challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

This is a wonderful die and I love the way you paired it with that large sentiment. I'm still so impressed of your fundraising, you made amazing sales!! xxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous looking pie, Kate, and what a fancy crust edge.
ReplyDeleteLooks good enough to eat Kate - I love how you've done the baking 'tin'. It looks like one of those disposable tin foil pie holders (don't know what you call them!) I can't work out if you've coloured it or used dp...either way, it looks amazing! Thanks for your kind words too!
ReplyDeleteSorry Claire - I usually go into more detail but was short of time! I used coloured card stock and blended Distress Ink (can't remember if it was Shabby Shutters or Peeled Paint) for depth.
DeleteSo beautiful and delicious! Love that pretty shade of green!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at my Crafty Wednesday challenge!
