Peaceful Forest

Challenge #130 has just gone live at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge and here is my DT card! My team mates have created some wonderfully inspiring Christmas cards so be sure to pop over and check them out!

I love tartan at Christmas time - it makes me feel cozy and festive at the same time!   I came across this particular tartan for the first time on my very first trip to Scotland and I instantly fell in love with it!  I returned to Australia with a rug, a skirt and a shawl in Lindsay tartan!  So you can imagine my delight at finding a 12x12 pad which contained several sheets of Lindsay tartan.  This sheet had a thread of gold running through it so I thought some gold mirri-card would be perfect.  I cut all three fir trees from this Alexandra Renke die set and used the inner and outer pieces to populate a little forest (plus another tree from a previous project).

The Peace sentiment is from this Reverse Confetti Winter Word set and I added a little gold star for good measure.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges
Timeout Challenge #228 - Winter or Holiday Season
Inkspirational Chalenge #280 - Word prompt "Gold"

I'm thrilled you stopped by my little corner of blogland and hope you go away a little inspired!  If you leave a comment, I’ll know you were here and how to find you so I can see what you've been up to!!!

Kate

  2. Hi Kate, I love your card. I like tartan, it must be some of the Scottish (Campbell) blood in me. I was born and raised in Adelaide, came to visit relations in Nottingham and Scotland when I was 23, 52 years later and I'm still here. It's getting warmer over here, it was 2 deg, this morning!! Well Kate I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Bye for now Marilyn xxx.

  3. Hi Kate, I like your card for two reasons, one, I love tartan, my Grandfather was Scottish, Campbell no less, so it must be the Scottish blood I've got, and bagpipes (loads), and second I also like LIM cards (less is more) . I was born and bred in Adelaide, then when I was 23 I decided to come to the UK to visit English and Scottish relations, that was 52 years ago, and I'm still here! Could you please let me know the size of your card? Well Kate, I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year, Cheers and Thankyou, Marilyn in Nottingham xx

    1. Hi Maz, it's a fairly standard A6 card! I prefer this size - the C6 envelopes are easier to find in the UK and Australia.
