Scooting By

I just loved the candy apple inspiration over at Curtain Call, and as this new Taylored Expressions Scooter arrived yesterday, I thought I would try these colours on a scooter.

Naturally I had to add glossy accents to get the same shiny effect as these yummy candied apples.

Peacocks and Butterflies

Hi, I wasn't sure I would make the Peacock Colour Challenge over at Less is More, but I made a quick card this morning.   I had this beautiful design paper earmarked for the challenge (reminds me of the shape and colours of peacock feathers) and I had the idea to cut out a butterfly from this iridescent contact which when backed with a solid card takes on that colour, trouble was though that the butterfly was lost on the patterned paper.

So I decided to look around for a sketch to help me and remembered it was contest week over at Mojo Monday so adapted their sketch to mount my butterfly.  It's no longer so simple but I hope the lines and papers are clean enough to fulfil the rules for "clean and simple" at Less is More.

Golden Dream Catcher

A golden dream catcher and a catcher of golden dreams hopefully.  I wasn't quite sure what to do with this golden dream catcher once I had made it (I just knew I had to make one after seeing this beauty from Pia S).  Then two things happened.  Firstly I spotted a few golden circles that had been negative cuts from a Verve Award Banner which were just too pretty to throw out (anyone else ever done that). Secondly I saw a challenge over at The Paper Players to use circles. I used a snippet of gold card and cut more circles using the same award banner (I just wanted the circles so I got away with a narrow strip), stuck 'em down and piled on the glossy accents to make them into pearls.
