Engagement Wishes

One last card before I pack up for Australia.  Looking forward to some warm weather as today was particularly nasty, and to top it off I have come down with a cold.

My card was influenced by the Card Concept 3 to use Monochromatic Pink.  I've tried to recreate the effect of the different pink flowers and I loved the soft green in the background.  I think my card falls into the category of Clean and Layered - I've certainly used more "white" space than I usually do.

The layout was inspired by Vicki Dutcher who is this week's Muse.

Supplies
Inks : Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters Distress Inks
Others : Memory Box Tessatina Die, Spellbinders Circles, Free WMS Floral Sprig Cut Files, Cameo

Sea-soned Birthday Wishes

I'm off the Australia next Saturday and I thought I'd better leave some birthday love for my husband who will have his birthday while I'm away.   He loves the open sea and I'm sure he'll appreciate this card.

The sentiments and images are all from the WMS Ocean Bound set and the images were all cut on the Silhouette from cut files provided by Waltzing Mouse.  The Chevron background stamp and Mini Pinstripe are also from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.

I'm entering this in the Dynamic Duos #88.  The colours are perfect as my husband has just received news that he now has dual Australian/Luxembourgish nationality, and these colours are very close to the Luxembourgish flag colours.

Once again I was inspired by the sketch at Mojo Monday.

I am also entering this in Seize the Birthday where the Topping is Chevrons.

Stamps : WMS Ocean Bound, WMS Mini Pinstripe, WMS Zig Zag Backgrounder
Ink : VersaMark, Versafine Satin Red, VersaColor Lagoon Blue,
Accessories : Sizzix Framelits Banners, Clear embossing powder, White embossing powder, Silhouette Cameo and WMS Ocean Bound Cut files.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your week

Craft Barn's Q & L Challenge - Razzle Dazzle

This is my entry for the Craft Barn's Q & L Challenge which is Dazzle and/or Silence.  For the life of me I can't think of a quote or lyric that includes both these words so I've gone with Dazzle.  This partial lyric is from the musical Chicago which was set in the roaring 20's so I've gone with an art deco theme.

This was quite easy really owing to the fact that I have the gorgeous Art Deco Backgrounds and Putting on the Ritz sets from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.  The background was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Blue Raspberry Aurora embossing powder and the Flapper girl and frame was embossed with Persian Sea Aurora.  I love working with these embossing powders - they give a great shimmery effect and they work on even very detailed stamps like these.

A feather and a few sequins finished off the tag.  I wouldn't normally dream of putting these colours together but I was after a dazzling effect.

I have an idea for "silence" as well, if I can just find the time before I leave for Australia - I am under strict orders to "tidy" my craft room before I go.
