Café Latte

I wanted to create a café look with this card, so I used some Spellbinder border dies to create some curtains from some gingham paper which I've had in my stash for ages but I think it's My Mind's Eye!!!  I'm really making an attempt to use up papers however I usually buy them at an ever faster rate !!!

I used more of the DP for a table cloth and topped it with a doily.  I then set the table with a coffee pot, mugs and a sugar bowl stamped and cut from the WMS Coffee set.  There was a lovely milk jug in the stamp set but unfortunately it had no matching die - once you start using matching dies it's hard to go back to fussy cutting don't you think?  Still if you've ordered a Latté I guess you don't need a milk jug on the table right 😄!!!

This gingham paper was a difficult one to colour match - all the colours were either too blue or to green, but then I remembered this embossing powder - which is lucky because Make My Monday has an Embossing Challenge this week.

Both Shopping Our Stash  and Cuttlebug Mania have coffee related challenges at the moment.

I'll also be entering the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies Challenge for April and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which has an Anything Goes Challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by, your visits and comments are always a joy.  I hope you find something to inspire you here,
Kate

  6. Beautiful step card, love the colors of your coffee set, the detail of the doily just adds so much charm to this lovely coffee setting.
Forgive my ignorance but, would you mind telling me what WMS means? I love that little coffee pot and mugs dies, they are just so darn beautiful.
Thank you for sharing this lovely card with us at SHOPPING OUR STASH, hope you come and play again next time.

  7. Hello Kate and thank you ever so much for your reply to my question about WMS, now I know it means Waltzing Mouse Stamps, although apparently to late.
It's so sad when companies that make beautiful stamps and papers and other craft stuff, close their doors for good. I've experienced that very thing when FlourishesLLC. closed it's doors about 3 years ago.
Luckily for all of us who were fans of this images, their illustrator, Marcella Hawley, created her own stamp company, Power Poppy, where she keeps sharing her amazing talent with her fans, old and new, through her art.
The little Gingerbread house is from one of her sets.
Anyway, thank you again for your reply and thank you also for the tip about Claire now illustrates for Gina K. Designs so I will be heading there right now to look her up.
I'm so glad you stopped by my blog, hope you visit often, I'm going to follow you so I wont miss your future posts.
    Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.
