Making a bee Line

As soon as I saw this {Pin}spirational Pic#184, I knew what I wanted to create.

I made a bee card a few weeks back which I was pretty chuffed about but I thought afterwards I could do better.  So I devised a spinning mechanism using magnets.  I have a market coming up so I made a few - 15 bees in total, though some are still waiting to be made up.  Here they are all lined up after I had coated them with glossy accents and sprinkled them with glitter.

The best part of all is that the bee can be removed and placed on a fridge or radiator or other suitable metallic surface

The current theme at Cuttlebug Mania is It's a Zoo Out There, so I'll be entering there as well - a Bee is an animal after all!!!

Home Sweet Home

I just saw the most amazing inspiration photo at Timeout's Challenge #77 and just had to finish this pinwheel flower I had half finished.

As the name suggests that flower spins around, which is a bit of fun to make, to give and to receive!

This Flowers, Leaves and Stem #4 die from Sizzix is perfect for making a bold statement and I used some Totally Tropical papers designed by Kate Knight (a free gift from Cardmaking and Papercraft).

It's an easel card and I took the opportunity to welcome the sunshine we had yesterday with this fun greeting from Verve Rise Above embossed in WOW! Tickled Pink Embossing Powder.

Such a beautiful day yesterday - not a cloud in the sky and no ice on the car!

Hope spring is in the air wherever you are, and if not I hope this brightens your day!!!  Thanks for stopping by, your visits and comments always brighten my day!!!

Butterfly Mojo 48

A very quick post to sneak in before Mojo Monday 482 closes.

It very hard to capture this gold mirror card.  Here's another angle.  Once again I used the Verve Fishtail Banner to cut the confetti for the background.

I Heart U

This MFT Abstract Heart arrived last week and with Valentine's Day fast approaching, I thought I should put it to good use.

I'm entering this card in Darnell's NBUS #10.

I was inspired by the colours in CTD428

This inspiration image from Curtain Call helped me finish the card.  The use of x's and o's prompted me to use the I and U to make up a sentiment, before that I just had a lonely heart.

I'm also entering in this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - The Colour of Love

I just love polka dots, so I'm glad to have another reason to use them - Inkspirational Challenge 127

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired.
Thanks especially if you take the time to leave a comment.  Not only do they make my day but they make it possible for me to return the favour,

A Little Chocolate

I've made another card with one of the chocolate bars I made this morning.  This one features a quote from Charles M. Schulz.  I had to use the Silhouette to cut the love because I don't own a die for it (must rectify that).  I tried to pick a font as close as possible to the script from the Verve Chocolate die and ended up going with the Dyspepsia font.  I added glossy accents for a bit of dimension.

I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge The Colour of Love where the theme is anything love related

and the Inkspirational Challenge #27 because of the background paper.

Nothing Better than a Friend

Hi hope you are enjoying your weekend so far, I've been having a great time today with chocolate.  And the best part is that this chocolate won't make you fat!

There are so many great quotes to do with chocolate and I have been using this Chocolate die from Verve to give some of them impact.  A few years ago my good friend Maggie called by with some chocolates and a fridge magnet she had found with this quote on it.  She knows me so well!!!

It wasn't included in any stamp sets I already own, so I computer generated it and cut it with a Joy Crafts Rectangular Speech Bubble.  If you know of any other chocolate related stamp and die sets "out there" I'd love to hear about them.

There are a two challenges which inspired me.  Timeout Challenge #76 is to be inspired by these words.   The phrase break them apart made me think of a block of chocolate LOL!

'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart'

Inkspirational Challenge #27 made me use more of this lovely background paper.

Really Love Chocolate

Since I had the Verve Chocolate set out, I thought I'd make another card with more contemporary papers.

and I changed the sentiment inside.

Since I used a polka dotted papers for the background on this card, I'm entering it in Challenge #127 at Inkspirational

I'm also entering at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which has the theme the Colour of Love - anything love related

The theme this week at Shopping our Stash Days of Yore anything with a Vintage/Shabby Chic or Distressed look to it.  While these papers are shabby chic or vintage,  I did distress the wrapping.

More than Chocolate

Yay finally I got a chance to break open this stamp set Chocolate by Verve with it's matching word die.

Here's the inside.  This sentiment was computer generated for a bit of fun, but the heart shaped chocolates are from the set.

I saw a card some while back (which I can no longer find unfortunately) which used die cut squares and some silver foil to look like a bar of chocolate.  I thought at the time it was a brilliant idea and it's been on my to do list ever since I bought this set last year!

As the Chocolate set and its accompanying die are previously unused, I'm entering this card in

As you can see, I was more than a little inspired by this pretty image from The Card Concept Challenge #66.  Mmmm roses and chocolates - doesn't get much better does it.

{Pin}spirational Challenge #183 has an equally delectable inspiration image.  I just loved that pretty striped tea cup!

The theme this week at Shopping our Stash Days of Yore anything with a Vintage/Shabby Chic or Distressed look to it!

The old fashioned rose DP reminds me of vintage wallpapers and I distressed the wrapper to make it look like it had been torn open.  Whoever gets this card may be distressed when they realise this card does not include real chocolate as well ;)

Simon Says StampWednesday has the theme "The Colour of Love" - anything love related, so I'll be entering there as well.

Enjoy the Ride, Make some Noise!

A friend of mine asked if I could make a card for her son's 30th birthday.  Her son plays the guitar and is an amateur bike rider, so I used my silhouette to cut out a guitar shape from this bike patterned paper. I then used the negative as the basis for a shaker card.

I bought some new die sets at the recent Luxembourg Expo Creative, so I used them here to spell out his name and age from red card stock, and added glossy accents for impact. The dies are from a Dutch company called Craft Emotions, and I bought the Uppercase Alpha, Lowercase Alpha and Numbers (and lots of others besides).  So many times I have wanted to add names or numbers to bunting and the characters have hung over the edges.

The computer generated sentiment on the inside reads and I used this Frantic Stamper Bicycle to reinforce it.

I'll be  entering in Darnell's  NBUS Challenge 10, though I haven't used any option with this card

Challenge #53 at the Male Room has the Challenge numbers so I'll be entering there

This is the Cue card for CASology Week 234 so I'll be entering there.  I wish I was still 30 !!!

My favourite challenge this week though, has to be Challenge #CFC166 at CAS-ual Fridays.  Not only does my card feature a guitar, it's a percussion instrument as well thanks to all those little beads inside!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired.  Thanks especially if you take the time to leave a comment, not only do they make my day, but they allow me to return the favour!!!
