Sequined Blooms

A birthday card for a friend.  I'd like to say it was quick but it kept morphing (started off as A6 size) and ended up taking a lot longer than I had planned.  The square frames were cut using the silhouette - my Spellbinders Squares were too small.  The tree was cut using the Memory Box Twiggy Tree with a twist - what you can see is the negative and there was a sheet of brown card underneath (I had to keep and paste in all the little pieces which were cut from between the branches).
The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse Asian Gardens cut using a Spellbinders Label 14 and slightly distressed around the edge with Walnut DI.  The Butterfly is a Sizzix Movers and Shapers die overstamped with Crafty Individuals Stamp CI-258.  The grass was green lined vellum which was cut using a Martha Stewart edge die.

The colour inspiration was from this week's The Colour Throwdown challenge.

and the real life inspiration - the view from my window

  2. A gorgeous card. I like the scene you have created and the use of sequins for cherry blossom. You have done an amazing job reinserting all the little pieces in the tree.
The view from your window is so pretty, you couldn't be blue with that for a view.
